#WageHope Against Pancreatic Cancer

We have the best fans in the world.

Not only do you inspire our community of artists on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram by sharing your Pentel-powered artwork; you’ve inspired us with your passionate support for our partners: Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Little Heroes, and now, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN). And it all started with you.

In 2012, PANCAN volunteers visited our Facebook wall and saw how much support you garnered for Breast Cancer Research Foundation through the purchase of our purple and pink pens. When they pointed out that purple is the color of PANCAN, you all hopped on board to rally another great cry against pancreatic cancer.

2013 marked the first year of our partnership with Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. You responded with gusto, rushing to get your very own violet EnerGel-X pens. We also had the opportunity to donate the official “Violet Pen of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network” to PANCAN for training seminars and community outreach events.

This year, let’s make a point to rewrite the future of pancreatic cancer. The five-year survival rate remains at a staggeringly low 6%. We’ve teamed up with Pancreatic Cancer Action Network once more to make even greater strides against this aggressive disease.

But we can’t do it without you.

Please, join us and PANCAN as we #WageHope against pancreatic cancer. Donate funds; donate time. Raise your voice — on social media; with your friends and family… to anyone who will listen. And continue carrying your violet EnerGel-X pens with pride, for 5 cents from each package purchased will go to PANCAN.

Together we can rewrite the future of pancreatic cancer. Will you join us?

to this day, I am so grateful to the girl in your HR dept that responded to my email in 2012 when I asked if there was any way you could help since your purple pens were also advertised in helping The Breast Cancer Foundation because of the color purple being for pancreatic cancer awareness. I had been buying your purple pens for years & merely asked if somehow you would consider helping for pancreatic cancer too. Pentel of America is #1 in my book because you listened to a regular, everyday consumer & came through for thousands upon thousands to help WAGE HOPE for our future. In my mom’s memory, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Pancreatic Cancer patients have not had a fighting chance in years. Thank you for your support to help our families that have been affected have more hope for the future survival rate of others. My husband,, James R. Hayes, tried his best to survive but Pancreatic Cancer took him anyway. Again, thank you.

Like so many of the other commenters (most of whom I know–they are all part of my extended “purple” family), I lost a loved one to pancreatic cancer. My mother died in 2002, and I welcome your help as I #WageHope in her name!

9 years after losing my sister to breast cancer in 1986, I met my best friend Karen. We became instant best friends. It was like God gave me the gift of a new sister. With my family history of breast cancer, my prodding helped Karen find, fight & win against breast cancer. But, in December of 2011 (then a 7 year survivor of breast cancer) we were all blindsided, when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I never realized in this day & age, that these poor people do not have the basic human right to fight for their life, that most other people diagnosed with other cancers have. Other cancers have tests for early diagnosis, & far more advanced treatments. To me, (as well as many others) that is UNACCEPTABLE. I used to be the Queen of the Pink, but I have retired the Pink and donned the Purple to join this fight. And, I cannot thank you at Pentel enough for joining the fight to #WageHope and awareness against this deadly disease.

In April, 2005 I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma (a 2 cm tumor on the top of my pancreas and two node involvement). While I was undergoing treatment for my own cancer, my youngest sister was also diagnosed with PC and a mere ten months late, she passed. I’m NOT a 9-1/2 year survivor, but rather a pancreatic cancer patient, who still suffers the affects of this cancer daily and just was lucky enough to get an extension. As most “Survivors” will agree, we still live on borrowed time. I pray to our Lord daily, thanking Him for another day I can spend with my friends and family, remembering those who have passed and those who are still fighting it. Then I say a very special extra prayer, thanking Him for being blessed by corporations, such as Pentel, because without our Corporate and private sector individual contributors, there would be no hope of finding a cure. And, although it may be too late for me, it might not be too late for my children, for you see my PC is hereditary.

Therefore, I’m sending a very big THANK YOU to everyone at Pentel. I recommend your EnerGelX pens to all of my friends and family and buy extras to hand out as gifts. It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling knowing that I can help your corporation in a small way and you, in turn, are giving us hope for a brighter, cancer-free, future. May God bless you all and may your Holiday Season be filled with lots of love, laughter, happiness and prosperity!
