It’s that time of year when people begin to set goals for themselves that can often lead to change. For many, January is a time to evaluate where you are in life and where you want to be. Rewriting your own story can often mean you’re on the hunt for a new job. This can be an overwhelming time but, you’re not alone. With all there is to remember, between what to put on your résumé to what to say in an interview, sometimes it’s simple gestures that make you stand out above the rest. Taking the time to write a thank you letter to follow up on an interview can make the difference between you & the competition!

Monster.com advises job seekers to make follow up correspondence a priority after an interview. Peter Vogt, Monster Senior Contributing Writer, says:

“It seems amazing, but it’s true: A simple thank-you letter after an interview can wield considerable power and influence, and reflect very favorably on your candidacy for the position.”

We also think you can take it one step further by making this letter personal and sending it handwritten!
