How to Fold Your Way to Origami Fortune Teller Fun

Who remembers these!? For those who don’t they went by the name “cootie catcher,” “paper fortune teller,” or “chatterbox.” This Throwback Thursday, nothing says nostalgia trip quite like an Origami Fortune Teller. Re-learn how to make one and relive all the fun of days gone by…

Here are a few reasons why you should create your own:

  • It’s a great distraction when boredom sets in or you just need a break (e.g. car rides, studying)
  • Predict the future…ok, maybe not…but maybe get an answer to that question you’ve been pondering.
  • They can be an awesome ice-breaker.
  • You can spend hours decorating them intricately, like so:

Once you’ve completed your crafty origami fortune teller you have an opportunity to decorate it and make it elaborate. Add numbers, letters, colors, or names to the inside of each flap. We love this version from What I Made:
